I painted this painting a local art event called The Art Experience. Every month artist were given a common theme to paint. This month the theme was “angels”. So I decided to paint a colorful praying angel. My favorite prayer happens to be the rosary because it helps me to reflect on Jesus’ whole life from His Birth, Death and Resurrection. That is why the angel is holding a rosary.

Now there’s a sweet little story behind this specific rosary that I painted. As some of you know my first and middle name together is Amberose Marie. When I was little while I was still learning how to pronounce my words correctly, I used to walk around with my split teeth saying “Hi, I am Amber Rosary and I was born on June twenty-ford.”

When I was a little older, a Polish priest loved my name “Amberose”. I remember him questioning me if I have ever seen an amber stone before. He told me there were so many amber stones in Poland were he grew up. One weekend, after Sunday Mass, Father pulled out of his pocket a rosary made out of amber stones and gifted it to me. It was one of the most special gifts I had ever received. To this very day I, Amberose Rosary, pray with my special amber rosary.
